Getting to Lampada

Lampada and Perisher Ski Resort is an easy 5.5 to 6 hour drive from Sydney via Canberra and Cooma or 7 hours from Melbourne with more than half the distance on freeway or dual carriage roads.

From Jindabyne

For those day-tripping into Perisher in Winter from Jindabyne follow the Kosciuszko Road for roughly 30 minutes into Perisher. Lampada Ski Club is located in Perisher Valley near the Pretty Valley double chair ski lift. It is under a kilometre from the Perisher Valley Skitube Terminal, day-only car park and the Perisher Ski Centre. The large car park in Perisher Valley is open from 7am until midnight for day visitors only. NB – Overnight parking is NOT permitted above the snow line in winter.

NB – When entering perisher by car it is compulsory to carry properly fitting snow chains (AWD & 4WD are exempt from these rules in NSW only) if proceeding beyond Sawpit Creek car park, which is about 18 km before you get to Perisher. Chains can be hired at many service stations and ski hire shops in the region.

Access to the Perisher Valley is via Jindabyne on the Kosciusko Road , through the National Park gates where you will have to pay a daily entrance fee unless you hold an annual NPWS pass. Further details about park entrance fees are available from <www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au>

Alternative access is via Jindabyne and the Alpine Way (towards Thredbo) and then via the Skitube at Bullocks Flat.

Free overnight parking is available here. During winter trains operate to Perisher Terminal, providing a 20 – 30 minute service between 6am and 6pm then hourly until 1am (all night at weekends – timetables and fares phone 1300 655 822 or www.perisher.com.au ).

Free short and long term car parking are available at Bullocks Flat. Trolleys are available for your baggage with a service elevator at Perisher Centre to help you to and from the platform level.

Summer Parking

To park at the lodge, drive through Perisher car park then along Perisher Creek Rd (towards North Perisher) turn left 1/2 klm along and up the hill towards Pretty Valley Rd and Lampada. There is a turning circle / car park area amongst a small group of lodges.

Location

Lampada Ski Club is located in 21 Pretty Valley Road, Perisher Valley, NSW 2624. The lodge is ideally located near the Pretty Valley double-chair ski lift. National Parks Fees –  Perisher and the surrounding ski resorts are within the NSW Kosciusko National Park and therefore attract entry fees. Daily rates are applicable or Annual National Park Passes and multi-day entry discounts are available through the National Parks Office in Jindabyne or on the Kosciusko Rd, or on their website http://www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au/passes-and-fees.

Summer Access – Throughout summer the lodge and its facilities are accessable via road. Parking is available outside the lodge during summer removing the need for any over-snow transport. To access the Perisher Valley and the lodge throughout summer follow the Kosciusko Road from Jindabyne for 30 minutes (25kms) into the main Perisher carpark and follow the signs for North Perisher. As always with weather in the Alpine National Parks, vistors should be prepared for changing conditions with little or no notice. Although not a regular occurance snowfalls can sometimes happen during summer.
